The Manipur government has developed a designated health care facility and made available about 145 beds for those exposed persons who develop symptoms for COVID-19 before testing.
“If an exposed person develops symptoms before testing, the person should be referred to a designated health care facility immediately for isolation/observation and sample collection,” a statement issued from covid-19 common control room said.

“Such prompt action would reduce secondary attacks,” it said.
A total of 145 such beds are available at Bishnupur district hospital, it stated.
Meanwhile, with the 64 new cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Manipur has increased to 777 while the active cases risen to 841, it said.

It added that 64 persons including 35 male, 29 females were confirmed as new COVID -19 positive cases from the VRDL (Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory) of RIMS (43) and JNIMS (21) in the last 24 hours.
They are from Imphal West (3), Imphal East (2), Kakching (6), Kamjong (20), Kangpokpi (18),Tamenglong (8) and Thoubal(6) districts, it said.
They are all returnees from other states and are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities.
It said all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
It added that the total numbers of positive and active cases are 777 and 545 respectively.
On the other hand, 14 persons are discharged on Sunday from JNIMS (5) and RIMS (9) after they are found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
It said adding that the total number of recovered cases is 232.The recovery rate is 29.85.
