The ongoing COVID-19 curfew in seven Manipur districts has been extended till June 30.
Curfew had to be extended in seven districts of Manipur as the State continues to report high numbers of COVID-19 cases and related deaths daily.
The districts where the COVID-19 curfew has been extended by the Manipur Government are: Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, and Bishnupur.
“Number of Covid-19 infections and deaths remain high in the state and there is a need to continue with the restrictions till it shows a considerable decline,” an order from the Manipur Home Department read.
However, additional relaxations have been announced by the Manipur Government.
Airlines’ city booking reservation offices and the railway reservation office at the MSRTC complex have been allowed to open from 10 am to 2 pm.

However, no relaxation has been announced in regards to inter-district movement between these seven districts and the other nine districts in Manipur, where COVID-19 curfew is not in force.
Manipur on Friday logged 687 new COVID-19 cases and 19 related deaths.
With the detection of these new cases, Manipur’s active cases tally now currently stands at 8922.
Meanwhile, the overall COVID-19 death toll in Manipur has risen to 944, with these 19 new deaths.
On the other hand, the state has registered 1105 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, with the recovery rate standing at 83.21%
