The Congress with in alliance the NPP and TMC will form government in Manipur replacing the BJP-led coalition government, party leaders claimed.

“The new beginning of India begins in Manipur today with the downfall of the BJP rule in the state. Today marks the sunrise for Manipur. Today is the dawn of 2024 for India,” state Congress spokesperson Ningombam Bupenda Meitei said in a tweet.

The beginning of downfall of BJP rule in India happens today in Imphal, Manipur. Very soon, there will be people's true government which is the new Congress led coalition government in Manipur.

Three-time Manipur chief minister and Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh with the NPP and TMC legislators will meet the governor on Thursday evening and seek a floor test for chief minister N Biren Singh.

Meitei said that 12 legislators led by Congress including NPP have sent a notice to Manipur Legislative Assembly for the removal of Speaker under Article 179(c) of Constitution of India.

“12 MLAs led by Congress, including NPP, have sent a notice to Manipur Legislative Assembly for the removal of Speaker under Article 179(c) of Constitution of India. This notice will further strengthen formation of the new Congress led coalition govt. in Manipur,” he tweeted.

“12 MLAs led by Congress, including NPP, have supported the motion which is mentioned in a notice sent by Congress MLA Shri K. Meghachandra to Manipur Legislative Assembly for the removal of Speaker under Article 179(c) of Constitution of India,” he said in another tweet.

This notice will further strengthen the formation of the new Congress led coalition government in Manipur, he added.
