The 71st Republic Day Celebration 2020 concluded on Monday with the Folk Dance Competition and Beating the Retreat Ceremony held at 1st battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground in Imphal where state Governor Dr Najma Heptulla, handed Red Blankets to 16 village chiefs and headmen of eight hill districts.
Deputy chief minister Y Joykumar other council of ministers, high ranking officers of both civil and Home department also attended the beating the retreat function.

The Governor also gave way prizes in different categories to the participants in the 71st Republic Day Celebration 2020.
Out of the 15 cultural troupes from both hills and valley districts in the folk dance competition, Scheduled Caste Children’s Cultural Dance Academy, Kakching, was declared as first position.
The second place was jointly awarded to Nungnang Cultural Troupe, Noney District and The Kanto Awang Leikai Development Organization, Imphal East and the third place went to Konsakul Cultural Troupe, Kangpokpi District with a cash price of Rs 50,000, Rs40,000 and Rs 30,000 each.

In the march past Category, Uniform Contingents of BSF & Fire Service jointly secured the first position, police commandoes combined ( Imphal & Bishnupur) and CRPF (male) contingents were positioned in the 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The Mahila contingents of CRPF) and 9 IRB (Commando) are placed in the 1st and 2nd.
The third placed was jointly awarded to Home Guard & 9 IRB Mahila Contingent.
In the NCC Group, 14th Senior NCC Boys & Girls, NCC Senior Air Wing and 65 th NCC Sr. Girls secured in 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the school contingents, Sainik School, Imphal & KGBV,Andro were placed in 1st position, second placed went to both Manipur Public School , Koirengei & National Sports Academy(Girls) and both Residential School, Khurai & Malom Mega High School were jointly placed in the the 3rd position.
The College Contingents of GP Women’s College, Imphal & DM College (Science) secured the 1st position and DM College (Arts) & Modern College secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The Band Party of Assam Rifles secured the 1 st position, Territorial Army Band & 9 IRB Mahila Band secured in the 2nd position and CRPF Band secured the 3 rd position.
