Assam Rifles seize drugs worth Rs 1.29 core in Manipur

In a major haul, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles seized a huge cache of contraband drugs worth Rs 1.29 crore in the international market, along Imphal-Moreh National Highway (NH 102) of Manipur on July 27.

This was stated in a press release by PRO IGAR (South) issued on Saturday.

It stated that acting on specific information, an Eeco Van was intercepted at Permanent Vehicle Check Post (PVCP), Khudengthabi, by a team of Tengnoupal Battalion.

During the search, the security personnel found approximately 258 grams of concealed drugs in the vehicle.

The passenger was taken into custody by Assam Rifles.

Later, the apprehended individual along with the seized items have been handed over to Moreh police station.
