CHURACHANDPUR: Assam Rifles successfully cleared a major road blockade caused by Cyclone Remal on national highway-2 near Chiangpi village in Churachandpur district of Manipur.
The operation, conducted amidst harsh weather conditions and geographical challenges, aimed to restore connectivity in the region severely affected by the cyclone.
Soldiers of Assam Rifles worked tirelessly to remove debris and ensure safe passage through the road.
Meanwhile, at Relief Camp S Kwatilian village in Churachandpur district of Manipur, Assam Rifles initiated the distribution of essential items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Relief materials, including rice, sugar, salt, and other essentials, were provided to 76 IDPs, including 15 children and 34 women, offering much-needed support to those affected by the cyclone.
In addition, Assam Rifles extended relief efforts to the inmates of Oriental Children’s Home Orphanage School in Chandel district in Manipur.
A total of 75 children received essential relief supplies, offering assistance to alleviate their plight in the aftermath of the cyclone.
The relentless rainfall, attributed to Cyclone Remal, has battered Manipur for the past three days, resulting in significant damage to houses and infrastructure.
