The Assam Rifles (South) units deployed at various locations also organised Christmas Day celebrations in Manipur.

The troops of 11 Assam Rifles organised Christmas Day celebrations in the area of responsibility of the battalion from December 20 to 25. The occasion was marked with distribution of Bibles and wall clocks to all the ninety-five Churches in Moreh and nearby areas.

Various ceremonies and interaction followed by tea with locals and Pastors at IB location and Company operating bases at Moreh. Church Function at unit Church at Moreh Helipad, all under Tengnoupal district of Manipur was also organised following the formal inauguration of the celebration by Officiating Commandant Surendra Kumar RS of 11 Assam Rifles. Around 35 locals with Pastors attended the event at unit Church.

Meanwhile the 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles also celebrated the festival of Christmas at Leishankhong Baptist Church, Leishankhong and Namthenglong Baptist Church, Uchiwa in Imphal West district on Monday.

Children were presented with gifts during the celebration while refreshments were also provided to everyone during the gathering.

Troops of 29 Assam Rifles located at Joupi in the interior of Tengnoual district celebrated Christmas with villagers in the area of responsibility of the battalion. Due to unavailability of churches in remote villages in the area of responsibility of Hengkot company  the unit celebrated Christmas in the Company Operating Base itself.
