Arunachal Pradesh chief secretary Naresh Kumar on Monday reviewed the preparedness of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 which is scheduled to be launched across the State from December 2 next.
The IMI 2.0 aims at achieving the target of 90% full immunisation of children up to 2 years of age and pregnant women.
The chief secretary asked the health & family welfare department to devise the entire immunisation mechanism so that the State is able to achieve 97% target.
With an objective to reaching out to the un-reached, Kumar called upon all the other departments to work in coordination with health and family welfare and lend their support in the areas where their help is required.
To address local issues which remain a challenge in many parts of the State, the chief secretary stressed on use of robust communication strategies like FM radio channels and community radios, text messages etc to disseminate information about IMI 2.0.
He suggested use of local dialects in the messages for better awareness.
Kumar also advised a reward in the form of cash or kind to the best-performing ANM with cent per cent IMI 2.0 coverage.
The IMI 2.0 will be conducted in four rounds at 18 identified districts in Arunachal Pradesh.
Health & family welfare principal secretary A C Verma, WCD secretary Niharika Rai, IPR secretary Himanshu Gupta and others were present in the meeting.
