With 169 new cases including 94 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur on Saturday reached 3,635.
In the past 24 hours, 169 persons including 94 CAPF jawans, were confirmed as new COVID 19 positive cases, spokesperson of health department Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang said in a press release on Saturday evening.

They are from Imphal West, Thoubal, Chandel, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Churachandpur, Noney and Ukhrul districts.
Only four from Noney district are returnees from other states and the rest 71 are locals without any significant travel history, it said.
Informing that they are being shifted to the COVID care facilities, the official said all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the past 24 hours, 1 person was discharged from JNIMS after finding COVID-19 free on RT PCR test, the press release added.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 3,635 including 795 CAPF, as per the release.
The numbers of active and recovered cases are 1697 (including 702 CAPF) and 1927 (including 93 CAPF) respectively.
Today, a 63-year-old man from Imphal East district died of COVID -19, it said.
With this the number of Covid-19 fatalities in the state rose to 11.
Till date 765 persons have been confirmed as locally transmitted non-returnee, COVID-19 positive cases, it added.
So far 98,819 samples were tested for Covid-19, according to the latest report of the state surveillance officer of the integrated disease surveillance programme.
