Imphal: A week-long welfare campaign was launched in Kangpokpi on May 18 and will continue until May 25, 2026, under the leadership of Lamminlal Simte. The initiative aims to strengthen grassroots awareness and organize beneficiary saturation camps for tribal communities across the district.

Launching the campaign, Simte stressed the importance of strong coordination among government departments, sub-divisional officers and community stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of welfare benefits to eligible residents. He urged all concerned authorities to work collectively so that government schemes effectively reach people at the grassroots level.

As part of the implementation plan, the district administration has divided the region into 16 operational clusters covering 59 villages across nine development blocks. The campaign is focused on increasing public awareness and ensuring that no eligible tribal beneficiary is left out of welfare coverage.

The drive includes 25 policy interventions under the PM DASGVA framework involving 17 Central ministries, along with 11 additional interventions linked to the PM JANMAN scheme, which is being implemented through nine ministries. Both flagship initiatives were launched by the Prime Minister on October 2, 2024.
