Imphal: Vice Chancellor of the Manipur University, Prof. N. Lokendra Singh along with all the Deans of the Schools of Studies of the University called on the Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Monday and apprised her about the issues regarding the regular faculties and employees of Manipur University who have been displaced due to the ethnic clash that started on May 3, 2024, and sought advice on this matter.
The VC expressed gratitude to the Governor for personally extending an invitation for the Convocation to the President of India during her recent visit to Delhi.
During her visit to Delhi, the Governor has invited the President of India Draupadi Murmu to pay a visit to the state and attend the convocation ceremony of the Central University, Manipur as a chief guest at Imphal.
The invitation was made when the Manipur governor called on the president at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital recently.
During the meeting, the Governor invited the President to the convocation ceremony of the Manipur University. Anusuiya Uikey also briefed Draupadi Murmu about the prevailing situation in Manipur.
She informed President Murmu about the university’s activities by presenting a coffee table book highlighting the works taken up in Manipur since she assumed office in February 2023 till date.
