Manipur SSA primary teachers’ appointments cancelled

In a major development, the appointment orders of primary teachers under Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan of Manipur Education Department have been cancelled.

The appointments are declared null and void after investigations revealed that some of them have been found undertaking courses at different institutions.

A release signed by Director of Education, Th Kirankumar said one appointed primary teacher Thangjam Bibekananda Singh, son of Thangjam Rajen Singh from Ukhonsang Mayai Leikai was found to be already pursuing MBBS course at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences before his appointment as a primary teacher.

The release further ordered zonal education officer (Kakching) to lodge an FIR against Kirankumar for alleged fraudulence and wrongful drawing of pay and allowances etc, under appropriate clauses of IPC.

Another appointed primary teacher B K Namriboi, daughter of B K Isaac and Esther from Mayangkhang Ningthoupham, Kangpokpi district was found to be pursuing B Sc (Agriculture) at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore before her appointment and still undergoing M Sc (Agriculture) at the college of Post Graduate Studies, Umiam, Meghalaya.

Whereas appointed primary teacher Rubeiya Huda, daughter of Hesamuddin from Lilong Hangamthabi, Lilong, Thoubal district was also found to be already pursuing MBBS course at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat before her appointment as primary teacher.

The zonal education officer (Zone III) has been ordered to lodge an FIR against her.

Appointed primary teacher Md Taj Mahammad was also found to be already pursuing MBBS course at JNIMS, Porompat before being appointed as primary teacher.

The appointments of the mentioned primary teachers have been treated null and void and their appointment orders cancelled, an Education Department added.
