RIMS hospital gets advanced digital radiography fluoroscopy system.

Imphal: A piece of highly advanced equipment in medical science — multipurpose digital radiography fluoroscopy system DR 800 was installed at the Department of Radiodiagnosis of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, and opened its services for patients on Tuesday.

G Sunilkumar Sharma, Director of the RIMS who was the chief guest of the function said that the installation of this clinical application is the first time in the government hospital in India and also one of the best state-of-the-art systems in the government sector across the country.

Later, talking to the newsmen, the Director said that the DR 800 is a digital for diagnostic fluoroscopy for multipurpose radiography.

It supports general radiography, fluoroscopy, and advanced clinical applications.

Digital fluoroscopy is a form of X-ray that allows users to view deep structures of the body in real-time.

It provides detailed images of function and the structure of areas like the intestines, bladder, cardiac muscle, and stomach.

It combines the efficiency of radiography and fluoroscopy in one unit. It also has features to improve the safety of both patients and clinicians.

The DR 800 has a 90-degree tilting table that can be controlled via its Vario drive remote control technology, he added.

Some advantages of digital radiography and fluoroscopy include Faster turn-around times and immediate image preview Ability to digitally transfer images to other systems for ease of analysis Increased image enhancement and detail less radiation can be used than conventional radiography.
