Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Manipur in a major breakthrough has arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Manipur Police in connection with a case related to illegal selling of contraband drug.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Takhellambam Bangkabihari Singh (55), who is presently posted in Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state was reportedly arrested from Uripok kangchup Road, Imphal West on Tuesday.

The Deputy Superintendent was arrested after Khumujam Robindro (46), from Mayang Imphal Konchak locality disclosed that the police official had handed him 2 kgs of brown sugar which was seized from himself by NAB on October 28 this year.
From Robindro’s , who is now in judicial custody, disclosure NAB came to know that his friend, the DSP, who was an Inspector in Manipur police then at Jiribam district, had drugs in his possession. They had several meetings at Jiribam and later the police official brought the drugs and delivered two kilograms brown sugar on October 16 for disposal (to sell).
