The new Orange Queen 2018 title went to Shelina Saikhom of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur.

The night long beauty pageant held as part of the three day 15th Orange festival concluded in Tamenglong district headquarter, about 150 km west of Imphal on late chilly Monday night.

The state level orange festival is organized in an effort to promote the orange cultivation in the State particularly in Tamenglong district considering its nutritional values and peculiar juicy taste.

N Celena Chanu of Games village in Imphal and T K Darshini of Sangakpham in greater Imphal area were adjudged as first and second runner title of the beauty pageant which was participated by 22 participants belonging to different communities living in the State.

Thus the new orange queen Shelina, a resident of Keishamthong Hiram  Leirak under Imphal west district who also bagged Miss Catwalk title, went home richer with a cash prize of Rs one lakh with citation while the first and second runner up title holders got a cash prize of Rs 90,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively along with citation.

The winners of the sub-title holder beauties – Vahoiching Haokip (Miss Popularity), Sushma Maibam(Miss congeniality), Celena Chanu (Miss Photogenic), Sanbonliu Marenmai (Miss Fashionista), Gaisinglung Pamei v(Miss beautiful smile)were also awarded cash prizes.

The night long beauty contest was scrutinized by a panel of six judges including Manipuri actor Soma Laishram and Mr International India Halley Laithangbam .

In the last orange queen contest 2017 Sangita Thiyam, a resident of Irom Meijarao in Imphal West district of Manipur bagged the title while first and second runners title were bagged by Lumgailiu Panmei of Tamenglong and Keipila Lovety Maram of Tumuyon Khullen in Senapati district.

Sangita also won Miss Best Catwalk award and went home richer with a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh.
