Imphal: Unknown miscreants came in a car and threw bombs at the residential gate of a Managing Director of a private firm located at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under the Lamphel police station in Imphal West district on Sunday late night.
The perpetrators who came in a white colour car lobbed two bombs at the main gate of the residential complex of N Samarjit, the Managing Director of Salai Holdings Private Limited, a non-government company.
One bomb exploded causing damage to the residential gate while another remained unexploded.
There was no casualty in the blast being the late night.
Teams of Manipur Police’s Bomb Detective and Disposal Squad (MPBDS) were called in immediately.
The MPBDS collected the explosive material, cordoned it off, and defused it at a dumping site in the Imphal West district at around 2 am on Monday, the police said.
The police registered a case in this regard and the motive behind the incident is suspected to be a monetary matter.
Official reports stated that the company could not pay back the investors’ money as it could not function properly because its bank accounts and their assets being frozen by the State Government.
Incorporated on 15 Oct 2014 and classified as a ‘company limited by shares’ the firm’s authorized capital stands at Rs 200.0 lakh and has five per cent paid-up capital of Rs 10.0 lakhs.
Salai Holdings Private Limited’s last annual general meeting (AGM) happened on 30 Sept 2017.
The company last updated its financials on 31 March 2017 as per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
