Guwahati: In the wake of the deteriorating law and order situation in Manipur, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Saturday directed all security forces to take necessary steps to restore order and peace in the violence-hit state.
The security scenario in Manipur has remained fragile for the past few days, the MHA said in a press statement.

Armed miscreants from both communities in conflict have been indulging in violence leading to unfortunate loss of lives and disruption in public order, it added.

All the security forces have been directed to take necessary steps to restore order and peace, the MHA said in the statement.

Strict action would be initiated against anyone trying to indulge in violent and disruptive activities, it added.
Important cases have been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for effective investigation, it said.
Public are requested to maintain peace, not believe in rumours and cooperate with the security forces to maintain law and order in the state, the MHA further said in the statement.
