Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla on Saturday said there are tremendous untapped resources in Manipur and other northeastern States which if properly groomed can help in the way towards nation building.

Governor Heptulla said this after attending the Manipur State Conclave of National SC & ST Hub under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India in collaboration with the Forum of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Legislators & Parliamentarians at Raj Bhavan in Imphal.

Informing about her presence in the conclave, Governor Heptulla on her Twitter handle on Saturday stated: “Attended Manipur State Conclave of National SC & ST Hub under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India in collaboration with the Forum of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Legislators & Parliamentarians at Raj Bhavan.”

The Governor also stated: “Manipur and the other north eastern States deserve this attention as the SC/ST population is large and there is tremendous untapped resources which with proper grooming can participate effectively on the road to nation building.”

The conclave was also attended by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

After attending the conclave Manipur Chief Minister N Biren said that creation of avenues for the educated and skilled unemployed people particularly belonging to the SC and ST communities in Manipur is in the priority agenda of the State Government.
