With the onset of Christmas, Manipur Governor Dr Najma Heptulla, has conveyed her warm greetings to the people of the state, on the occasion.
“Lord Jesus was a visionary among humans and his preachings of peaceful coexistence and love for the neighbours has withstood the passage of time. The noble ideals of peace, harmony and brotherhood espoused by him for a better world devoid of evils should be a guiding light and upheld by all irrespective of caste, creed and religion,” said Dr Heptulla in a message. “Let this sacred day be observed in its true spirit.”

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas. In a message he said, it is the time to listen and take the message of Christmas with utmost seriousness, shun involvement in evil activities and involve oneself in the work of bringing development in the state.
Once again I wish the people of Manipur a merry Christmas and pray almighty that the season of love and joy ushers in an era of peace, harmony and prosperity in this beautiful state, Chief Minister’s message added.
Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar, Works and Information and Public Relation Department Minister Thongam Biswajit, Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Karam Shyam, Forest and Horticulture Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar also greeted the people of Manipur particularly the Christian community on the occasion.
Nemcha Kipgen, who holds Social Welfare portfolio also extended her heartfelt greetings of love and peace to the people on the occasion.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President TN Haokip, former Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, CPI State Council Secretary Dr M Nara and others wished the people on the eve of Christmas.

Meanwhile Sajik Battalion organized a number of events for the people of Kana Valley. The colourful event marked the enthusiasm of the locals included Barakhana with the Gaon Buras, distribution of cakes and sweets to every house in the valley and screening of movie for children.
