Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other central ministers have highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the new BJP led coalition government in Manipur during last one year.
Disclosing this, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh while addressing a state government officers’ meet including deputy commissioners and heads of departments on Thursday in connection with the proposed launching of ‘Go to Village’ mission from next month here, said that such success of the government was possible with the support, co-operation and blessings of the people of the State.
He also sought help and cooperation from the officials of the State Government including the top officers in making Manipur a model state for development in the country.
He also announced that there would be an interaction session cum meeting regarding the ‘Go to the Village’ mission at City Convention Centre in Imphal on April 8 next.
All the cabinet ministers, administrative secretaries, deputy commissioners, heads of departments and other top officials should attend the interaction programme to chalk out plans for the successful implementation of the mission which is scheduled to be launched in the first week of May, 2018.
He also added and assured that the government would provide alternative livelihood to those farmers who were engaged in poppy plantation in the past.
He further stated that the government would identify and encourage promising entrepreneurs especially those living in villages.
Maintaining that infrastructure mapping of villages would be done soon and he directed the deputy commissioners to create wide awareness campaigns about the mission in every district of the State.
He, however, assured that there would be no financial crunch under the ‘Go to the Village’ mission to bring inclusive development in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar also spoke on the occasion which was attended by the Works Minister Th Biswajit, Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Karam Shyam, Forest Minister Th Shyamkumar, Sports Minister Letpao Haokip, Social Welfare Ministers Nemcha Kipgen, state Chief Secretary Dr Suresh Babu and other top officials of the State Government.
Later, many officers gave their suggestions and opinions regarding the implementation of the mission during the meeting.
