Imphal: The Manipur Government on Monday started launching various “Digitisation Processes”, which will witness converting all the information into a digital format.
Launching the programme at his Secretariat on Monday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, “The goal of digitisation is to preserve the analog information and digitise it for computing devices to work seamlessly in the domains.”

The Government’s various scientific initiatives include Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Employee identity document (ID) Card, Digitization of the Gazette, the Induction of four Electric Vehicles in the General Administration Department’s fleet of vehicles, etc.
The latest scientific measures are aimed at streamlining various activities of the Secretariat employees and staff through digital identification, scheduling of appointments, electronic mobility, etc, the CM said.
The launching of the e-Gazette and digitisation of the old Gazette will ensure protection and better storage of important documents and crucial information etc, said the chief minister while speaking as the chief guest at the function.

A total number of 31,316 gazettes having 1,16,147 pages have been digitised so far. Digitization of old Gazettes was from 1950 onwards, he added.
