Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday led a ministerial delegation in attending a ‘Go to Village’ camp at Kakching Khunou in Kakching district of the State wherein the Chief Minister informed that other States had started adopting the Manipur model of ‘Go to Village’.
Highlighting the aims and objectives of ‘Go to Village’, he said the mission had covered around 1550 villages/localities, both urban and rural so far out of the total 2660 census villages of the State. He also informed that the remaining villages/localities would be covered by March 2019.
Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Karam Shyam, Forest and Environment Minister Th Shyamkumar also spoke on the occasion which was attended by Assembly Deputy Speaker K Robindro, Sekmai MLA H Dingo, councilors and chairperson of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council among other officials of various departments.
Education minister Th Radheshyam also attended a ‘Go to Village’ camp at Ukhongsang under Thoubal district wherein facilities like health cards, forms for old age pension, widow pension, school kits for students, free health check-up, aadhaar enrolments, applications for birth certificate, death certificate, residential certificate, enrolments of voter IDs, etc amongst others were provided to beneficiaries.
Similar ‘Go to Village’ camps were also held at many places under Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Chandel, Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts.
