Guwahati: Manipur police have apprehended Thoudam Nanao Singh, alias Chingsanglakpa or Putra, an S/S Sergeant Major of the proscribed KCP (Noyon) organisation on Wednesday (May 1).
The state police took to X and said that they had recovered a .32 pistol, a magazine, and six live rounds were retrieved from his possession.

In the X handle, Manipur police wrote, “On 01.05.2024, Security Forces arrested one S/S Sergeant Major of proscribed outfit KCP (Noyon) organization namely Thoudam Nanao Singh @ Chingsanglakpa @ Putra (43 yrs) from Waithou area, Thoubal District. From his possession 1 (one) no. of .32 Pistol along with magazine and 6 (six) live rounds were recovered.”
The Manipur police also conducted search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.

During the search operations, the following bunkers and items were destroyed and recovered respectively:
Six single barrel guns, 108 (12) bore cartridges, one (12) bore empty cartridge, four walkie-talkie radios with charger, seven bulletproof (without BP plate), two cartridge belts and two carry bags from Seijang Village, Jiribam District.
The police also destroyed twelve bunkers in the operation.
