Manipur bagged the second place in the entire country in the implementation of the voter helpline number.
The toll free voter helpline number 1950 was launched in the State in the recent past, according to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur PK Singh.

Singh also informed that in the upcoming election Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) will be used in all the polling stations in the country.
CEO Manipur was sharing this information during the 9th National Voters’ Day 2019 observation at the City Convention Center, Palace Compound, Imphal East District on Friday.
He also informed that the Voters Verification and Information Programme (VVIP) will be launched from New Delhi. After the massive success of the SVEEP campaign, he said that the Election Commission of India handed over the charge for the national multimedia campaign of the Lok Sabha Elections – 2019 to the CEO Manipur.

He also appealed to the voters to come forward for registration, correction, change of names and address in the electoral roll saying that the revision process will continue till the day of the nomination.
The state chief secretary Dr J Suresh Babu and DGP Manipur Manipur LM Khaute besides Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General KP Singh and IGP CRPF Manipur-Nagaland sector Rajesh Kumar attended as chief guest and guests of honour of the observation which was held under the theme ‘No Voter To Be Left Behind.’
Speaking at the function, Dr Suresh Babu said that electoral roll is the basic foundation of the election adding that the preparation of the electoral roll in fair manner thus becomes important.
In his speech DGP Khaute assured that State Police Department in collaboration with the Central Forces will take up requisite and elaborate steps for the security arrangements for the successful conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election – 2019. Many districts level officers were also felicitated during the day’s observation.
As part of the observance, 10 newly enrolled voters were presented Electoral Photo ID Card while felicitation was held for State Icons for the SVEEP campaign
