Imphal: The Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducting a joint operation busted a miscreants’ hideout and recovered arms, ammunition, explosives and other combat materials in Thoubal district of Manipur.
Based on a tip-off, the joint team launched an operation at Leirongthel Pitra Uyok hills in Thoubal district.

The operation led to the recovery of five firearms, including a 7.62mm AK rifle with magazine, a 7.62 SLR rifle with magazine, a 9mm SMG rifle with magazine, a 9mm pistol with magazine and a 12mm bore single barrel gun.
The operation which lasted for around two hours ended with the recovery of six 36 hand grenades, 58 live rounds of ammunition, two detonators, two tube launchers, a Baofeng walkie-talkie set with charger, a bulletproof jacket, two bulletproof iron plates and five arming rings.
The recovered items were later handed over to the Thoubal Police for further legal action.
