Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday exuded confidence that a Left Front government will be formed in the State for the eighth time for the ‘greater interest of peace, development, mutual brotherhood’.
The veteran CPI-M leader urged the ‘peace loving people’ of Tripura to defeat all ‘communal and divisive forces’.
Addressing a mammoth election rally of the party at Pallimangal school ground in Khayerpur on Saturday afternoon, the reigning Chief Minister and CPI-M politburo member, Sarkar said, a huge and diabolic conspiracy is going on across the State to destabilize the peace and mutual brotherhood of tribals and non-tribals, clearly indicating the pre-poll alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).
“Riding on the slogan of ‘Cholo Paltai’ (lets change), the communal forces BJP and RSS with the help of divisive forces like IPFT are hatching conspiracy to oust the Left Front government, but peace loving people of Tripura will defeat all conspiracy and maintain the tradition of mutual brotherhood,” Sarkar said.
Launching a scathing attack on IPFT, the Chief Minister said on earlier occasions, IPFT volunteers created riots, killed thousands of innocent people in the name of a separate state, but they have failed in all their attempts.
Castigating the BJP for not fulfilling the promises made before the last Lok Sabha elections, Sarkar alleged the economic condition of the country is ‘deteriorating day by day’.
Sarkar also laid focus on the development works done by his government saying despite financial constraints, the ‘state government has strengthened the Public Distribution System (PDS).
“Tripura is now among top five states of the country in providing better health services and achieved best parameters in health indexes”, added Sarkar.
