In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections, Dispur on Tuesday transferred nine IAS officers including Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner with immediate effect.
IAS officer Virendra Mittal who is the Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat has been transferred as the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) and East Kamrup.
M Angamuthu, who is serving as the Commissioner & Secretary to the Guwahati Development Department, has been relived from the position of Kamrup (M) DC and posted as Commissioner & Secretary to Urban Development department.
Angamuthu, served in the position of Kamrup (M) DC for four years.
Newly appointed Kamrup (M) DC Mittal expressed happiness over his appointment.
“I am happy with my new appointment. This is a huge responsibility and opportunity and I will try my best to make Guwahati a better place to live in. I will take charge from next Monday,” Mittal told Northeast Now.
Sivasagar DC Narayan Konwar has been transferred and posted as Jorhat DC.
Adil Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Pallav Gopal Jha, Deputy Commissioner, Majuli has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar, Krishna Govinda Bhuyan, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Home and Political department.
Deba Prasad Mishra, Director, Cultural Affairs and Managing Director, Film Finance and Development Corporation has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner, Majuli.
Barnali Sarma, District Development Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro) has been transferred as Director, Cultural Affairs department.
Mridul Kumar Bhuyan, Joint Secretary to the Home and Political and Parliamentary Affairs Departments and Director, Official Languages Implementation has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong district.
