Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Secretary Sadhana Deori on Wednesday asked the homestay owners to maintain standard and not to compromise with hygiene and sanitation while hosting the guests.
Tourism Secretary Deori said this while speaking at the two-day long Arunachal Pradesh Homestay Congress organized by the Department of Tourism, which got off to a positive start at the State Food Craft Institute in Itanagar on Wednesday.
Declaring the event open, Tourism Secretary Deori asked every stakeholders to share valuable inputs so as to make strong and effective recommendations out of the event.

Deori said the department is very soon going to put the registered homestays in its website as a part of marketing.
She also informed that the State Government is going to launch credit link subsidy to support the tour operators soon.
“Never compromise with sanitation and cleanliness while hosting the guests. Put every effort to give the best of the best services to the guests so that they can give good remarks later,” she told homestay owners.
The Tourism Secretary also asserted that the department is emphasising on eco and rural tourism along with homestay so that the real economy reach to the grass root people.
Tourism assistant director Bengia Manna Sonam appealed each and every one to support the homestay movement so that the local people especially the unemployed youth get benefits out of it.
Sonam also asked the homestay owners to initiate other activities like agriculture handloom and handicrafts etc along with homestay.
APTOA general secretary Bengia Mrinal shared experiences about the benefits of homestay for the local populace. He also focused more on adventure events that is viable in the State.
Help Tourism chairman Raj Basu and Tourism consultant S Kar also spoke on the occasion.
A large number of tour operators, homestay owners, tourism officials from all over the state and representatives from RGU, RGGP, SIRD, APSRLM and Delhi based Airbnb are attending the two day workshop.
