The Congress has reportedly finalised its second list of candidates in Assam for four Lok Sabha seats–Mangaldai, Nagaon, Tezpur and Lakhimpur.
According to reports, the party has decided to field former power minister and senior leader Pradyut Bordoloi in Nagaon seat.

On the other and former APCC president and Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita has been nominated for Mangaldai constituency.
Former bureaucrat MGVK Bhanu has been fielded from Tezpur while Anil Borgohain will be will be the nominee from Lakhimpur, sources confirmed.
According to a report in Assam Tribune, Bhanu’s nomination ran into trouble after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh raised objection in the CEC meeting to his nomination arguing that Tezpur is a prestigious seat and cultural capital of Assam, therefore nomination of an outsider could spark trouble, sources confided.

But it was subsequently cleared. The party will formally release the list on Monday.
Congress in its first list had announced the names of five candidates in Assam.
The candidates of the state figured in the first list are MP Gaurav Gogoi (Kaliabor), AIMC president and MP Sushmita Deb (Silchar), Swarup Das (Karimganj), Sushanta Borgohain (Jorhat) and former union minister Paban Singh Ghatowar (Dibrugarh).
