Losar silver jubilee festival celebration in Itanagar from March 2

The upcoming Losar silver jubilee festival celebration will be organized at Nyokum Lapang ground here in Itanagar from March 2 to 4 presenting a cultural mosaic of all the Buddhist communities living in various districts of the state, as well as neighbouring country Bhutan.

Welcoming everyone to participate in the three day celebration, Losar festival celebration 2018 chairman and Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS) president Sonam Tenzing informed that the festival will have 22 food stalls serving cuisines associated with the Buddhist community, cultural extravaganza, sports and games activities, community feast.

Participants from other communities will be allowed to participate in events like Archery, Kolokpa and shot put.

Categorically mentioning that the Losar silver jubilee festival celebration will not be commercialized, Tenzing informed  they will strictly monitor the rates of the food served in stalls so that a family can comfortably enjoy the cuisines without having to worry about expenses.

To ensure the rates of the food items sold in the stalls are kept at minimum price, all the stalls are assigned with a meagre fee of Rs 2000 as opposed to Rs 25000 during other festivals. Tenzing further added that there would a community feast where anyone can come and enjoy the meal free of cost.

He further informed that to see to it that the festival celebration do not turn into a nuisance for others, they will be wrapping up the event strictly by 11:30 pm.
