Guwahati: Lightning killed three people in Rangamati in Tripura and seven others were injured.
One person died in Swarntila of Rangamati Sadar, another in Rupkari Union of Baghaichhari Upazila and the third person expired in Sajeke.

It is reported that at around 10 am on Thursday a person named Nazir Ahmad (50) was grievously injured when lightning struck while he was fishing in Kaptai Lake in Swarnatila Sileti Para area of Tabalchhari, Rangamati city.
He was immediately rushed to Rangamati Sadar General Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
Meanwhile, a woman aged 57 named Baharjan was killed by lightning when she went to bring cows to the field in Baradam village of Rupkari union.

Another woman named Tonybala Tripuram aged 37 also suffered serious injuries due to lightning and died in the Longtian neighborhood in Sajek Union.
Seven people were further reported to be injured when lightning stuck in Swapan Chakma’s shop in the same area.
They are identified as Tarun Chakma (45), Trina Chakma (36), Rabindranath Chakma (62), Susam Lal Chakma (48), Akshay Mani Chakma (36), Pathhar Chakma (52) and Amar Jyoti Chakma (45).
All these people are currently undergoing treatment at Baghaichhari Health Complex.
