Imphal: The Border Security Forces, along with Assam Rifles, CRPF, and Manipur Police in coordinated efforts went to reinforce security and stability and carried out cordon and search operations into the vulnerable areas at different villages across this sensitive border state on Monday.
According to the officials, during the operations and area domination, three Improvised long-range mortars (Pumpi) with live shells were recovered from an abandoned camp previously occupied by the miscreants in the Churachandpur district.

The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
In another operation, a combined team of Imphal West district police and CRPF conducted a search operation and area domination in the Haorang Sabal area of Imphal West district from 6 am to 7.30 am during which the team searched 55 houses and verified 87 people.
The operations were followed by another with a combined team of Kakching district police and BSF also searched the Wapokpi village area under Sugnu police station from 7 am to 8 am during which 80 houses were checked and 175 people were paraded and identified.

Meantime, the Kangpokpi district police and Central forces also conducted a search operation at S Laijang village under Kangpokpi police station from 8.30 am to 9.40 am. The operations covered 17 houses and the verification of 25 people.
Another combined team of state police and CRPF conducted area domination in and around Bethal Veng and Gamngai village in Kangpokpi district from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
However, neither arrest nor arms seized/recovered has been made.
