“The project has already been completed but the workers who were engaged in the work don’t have job card,” said a local.
Constructed at the cost of Rs. 7.99 lakhs, the agriculture dyke was to be constructed from Haridas to Berkep through the banks of the stream Kanaijaan.
However, in the information board the stretch of construction work of the dyke is mentioned from Hijalarguri to Madhavpur, which is shorter than the projected work, alleged local residents.

They alleged the construction of the agriculture dyke under the MGNREGA scheme was carried out using heavy machineries like excavators and earth movers without engaging the job card holders.
An amount of Rs. 5, 59,375.00 meant for job card holders for this work has also been released so far.
The locals alleged that some middlemen use to withdraw the amounts from the savings bank accounts of the job card holders by paying a meager portion of it to the actual card holders.
