An important meeting on Aadhaar enrolment in the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district was held on Friday at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Guwahati.

Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal in the meeting asked the verifiers and technical persons to work with due diligence in the exercises of Aadhaar enrolment.

He also emphasized in adequate power supply, internet connection, availability of stationary and furniture to be supplied in the 42 proposed Aadhaar centres in the district.

‘We have to be the role model for the rest of Assam in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner said.

In the presence of the chief executive officer of the zilla parishad, nodal officer of Aadhaar Card enrolment in the district and Additional Deputy Commissioner Gunajit Kashyap, officials from APDCL, BSNL and banks, 42 verifiers and 42 numbers of technical supervisors, the procedure of work to be done in the Aadhaar centres for the forthcoming Aadhaar enrolment exercise in the district was also discussed in the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that 22 Aadhaar enrolment centres in the rural area and 20 numbers of Aadhaar enrolment centres in metro area are being set up in the various locations in the district.
