The Kamakhya-Bangalore Humsafar Express, scheduled for inauguration in Agartala on Thursday, will be extended upto Agartala via Badarpur in the Barak Valley, said an NF railway official.

The train will have 14 coaches and will start towards Bangalore from Agartala at 5am on Thursday. There will be seven stops for the train between Agartala and Guwahati, added the officail.

The stations are Ambasha, Dharmanagar, New Karimganj, Badarpur, New Haflong, Lumding and Guwahati.

The train has three-tier air conditioned Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches with features like LED screens to show information about stations, and train speed, an announcement system, vending machines for tea, coffee and milk, bio-toilets in compartments and CCTV cameras.

Humsafar Express is the first train to connect the southern part of India with Tripura.

NF Railway sources said the number of times the train would ply in a week would be finalised once the train was flagged off in Agartala.
