The 44-year-old resident of Kalimpong in West Bengal who tested positive of COVID-19 on Saturday evening passed away early Monday morning.
The woman from Kalimpong was also the first case of COVID-19 in North Bengal.

She was admitted to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), Siliguri.
According to sources the patient breathed her last at around 1:30 am in the wee hours of Monday.

The patient had a travel history and was kept in the isolation ward of the NBMCH after she tested positive.
The woman had recently returned from Chennai for her daugher’s treatment and later tested positive for COVID-19.
On March 20 last, she started suffering from dry cough and visit local doctor but could not get any relief.
Later she was admitted to NBMCH.
Finally, she died of COVID-19 on Monday.
