Justice Ajay Rastogi, a judge of Rajasthan High Court will take over as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court on Thursday as the incumbent Chief Justice, Justice T Vaiphei retires on Wednesday.
Earlier, Justice T Vaiphei was accorded befitting farewell by the Bar Association of Tripura at High Court complex in Agartala on Tuesday.
Incumbent Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura, Justice T Vaiphei on transfer took oath as the Judge of High Court of Tripura on May 16, 2016 and thereafter was appointed as the Chief Justice (acting) of the High Court of Tripura on the same day.
Later, on September 21, 2016, Justice T Vaiphei took oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura.
A press intimation from the Tripura government said that the swearing-in-ceremony for the new Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura would be held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday (March 1, 2018) and Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Ajay Rastogi.
