Ace innovator Uddhab Bharali has come up with an innovative product that aims to alleviate the hardships faced by the specially abled people.
57-year-old Bharali, who is a recipient of prestigious Padma Shri award, developed a unique bed for the specially abled persons.
This bed is 155th invention of Bharali, who invented many distinctive products including pomegranate seed peeling machine, remi recortication machine, garlic peeling machine, tobacco leaf cutter, paddy thresher, cane stripping machine, brass utensil polishing machine, safed musli peeling machine, Red Cardamom dryer and jatropha de-seeder.
Bharali dedicated this specially designed new invention to the specially abled persons and patients who have long been bed ridden.
Pressing a lever the user of this bed can turn it to a comfortable position.
The bed also has provisions for urinating and defecating and automatic cleaning systems, Bharali said.
The bed is equipped with a lever for attendants who can also operate it for the same services for the user.
It has also provisions for the users to turn from one side to another without other’s assistance and for changing clothes.
Bharali said he wanted to give two hours daily for the cause of the differentially abled persons in his workshop located at North Lakhimpur town.
The innovator is also running an old age home for helpless elderly women in North Lakhimpur and taking care of 15 underprivileged families.
Bharali’s workshop in North Lakhimpur is the only one in the country making devices for differentially abled persons free of cost.
