Indrani who was involved in the INX media corruption case had mentioned in her plea that she had not been forced to turn approver in the case and the decision was taken solely by her.

The CBI had alleged that Karti Chidambaram was the mastermind of the corruption case as he had managed to secure clearance from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for INX Media to get Rs 305 crore in overseas funds in 2007.

The case is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI.

P Chidabaram was heading the finance ministry when his son Karti had allegedly managed to secure FIPB clearance for INX media.

The Chidambarams are now facing a probe in the INX media corruption case registered by the Enforcement Directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The CBI had endorsed the application filed by Indrani who is currently staying in Byculla Jail in Mumbai in connection with the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora.

The CBI claimed that much of the evidence of the INX Media corruption case is with Indrani and it can help in strengthening the investigation.

The next hearing on the INX Media corruption case is scheduled to be held on July 11.
