Anissa Lamare, is set to feature in a movie based on 15 brave women who dared to embrace the unconventional.
Lamare from Shillong is India’s only female downhill mountain biker and she treads the treacherous mountain terrain frequently. During competitions she has to take part in the male category because there is no female rider in the country.
The film, directed by Kopal Goyal, will feature 15 women who have dared to break the gender stereotypes and go against everything that they are “supposed to do”.
The film will also feature athletes from 11 extreme sports like skiing, surfing, rock climbing, mountain biking, skateboarding, ice climbing, high lining, kayaking, paragliding, long boarding and trail running, among others.
Their personal stories of coming forward in their fields and establish their identities will be the focus of the film. Currently, the film is being shot in Kazakhstan for ice climbing.
