The Indian Railways has decided to run additional 40 pairs (80 trains) of special trains with effect from September 12, 2020.
The decision to run these 80 more special trains was taken by the Railway ministry in consultation with the Union health ministry and Union home ministry.
“The booking of accommodation in these trains shall start from 10th September, 2020. These will be fully reserved trains,” the Railway ministry said.
These trains will be in addition to the existing 30 special Rajdhani type trains started with effect from May 12, 2020 and 200 Special Mail Express trains introduced from June 1, 2020.
The Indian Railways is currently running a total of 230 trains.
The additional 40 pairs of special trains will be fully reserved trains.
Tickets can be booked from September 10, 2020, the Railway ministry in a tweet said.
