Spirit of camaraderie echoes as Indian Army and Assam villagers comes together for friendly volleyball matches.

Guwahati: Spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship echoed as the Indian Army and residents of Kordoiguri, Hasak, Lekhapani and Margherita in Assam’s Tinsukia district came together for friendly volleyball matches on Friday. 

The event, organised under the aegis of Spear Corps of the Indian Army, served as a testament to the power of sports in fostering unity and empowering the youth of the state.

In a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork, both teams showcased their skills and passion for the game, Kohima-based defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) and spokesperson for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, said in a statement.

The theme of youth empowerment resonated throughout the event, as the teams engaged in discussions after the match on the importance of providing opportunities for youth to thrive and excel in the field of sports, it added.

The teams also discussed how the sportsmen inspire people to embrace leadership, resilience and teamwork.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and felicitation of the players, it further said.
