The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in its 2019 BRICS rankings and India Specific University rankings released on Tuesday ranked the Indian Institute of Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT-Guwahati) at 48 (rank 52 in 2018) in BRICS and ranked it 10 in India.
Informing this, IIT Guwahati on its Twitter handle stated on Tuesday: “QS has launched the 2019 BRICS ranking and India Specific University rankings. IIT Guwahati is ranked 48 (rank 52 in 2018) in BRICS and rank 10 in India. Congratulations to all the students, staff and faculty members for their efforts and hard work.”
It may be mentioned that QS is a global higher education company which brings out the QS World University Rankings, the world’s most widely-consulted list of its kind.
In the first ever region wise QS University ranking, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) topped the list of Indian Universities, followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru, according to the QS India University Rankings.
While the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has been ranked 3, the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) ranked 4, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-K) ranked 5, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) ranked 6, University of Hyderabad ranked 8, University of Delhi ranked 8, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R) ranked 9.
