The Junior Warrant Officer, Indian Air Force (IAF), Guwahati, Balider Singh on Wednesday called on East Siang Deputy Commissioner in-charge T Borang (ADC) at his office chamber in Pasighat to discuss on recruitment of north-eastern youths into the IAF.

Briefing the Deputy Commissioner about the recruitment procedure in details, he requested the district authority for wide publicity so that youths from the north-eastern region including non-APST could take part in the recruitment rally being organized at the Borjhar Airforce Station, Guwahati (Assam) on March 17 next.

“There would be no limitation with absolutely free and fair selection process,” he further added.

Any 10+2 candidate (securing 50 per cent marks in any stream) can appear along with original class-X and XII passed certificates for the recruitment test for Group ‘Y’ (non-technical) category.

He further said that intending candidates can get more details at the website – airmenselection.cdac.in.

Taking in the suggestion, the in-charge Deputy Commissioner urged the visiting officer to provide more job opportunity for the young and energetic youths of the State saying that serving the country by donning a uniform is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for every individual.

Later, the Warrant Officer also visited Jawaharlal Nehru College and met the Principal M Modi asking him to motivate and apprise the students about career prospects in the Indian Air Force (IAF) and its challenging field.

Principal Modi in response opined that the youths have potential and such recruitment would help in grooming them by joining the armed forces.

Saying that Pasighat is very well connected by road and easily accessible to all, he asked the visiting officer to conduct such rally in Pasighat also in the near future.
