Shillong Lajong FC is all set to mesmerise their fans with new vigour in this season’s I League 2018-19 in their home ground on October 28, 2018.
Informing about the match in which they will host Aizawl FC, the team on its official Twitter handle on Saturday asked its fans to brace themselves to cheer them in the playground at Shillong.
Shillong Lajong FC tweeted: “Brace yourself, as your home team, Shillong Lajong FC is all set for the I League 2018/19 season! Be there & support Lajong in the new exciting season when we host Aizawl FC in the first North East Derby at our home ground on 28th Oct, 5 PM.”
As per a report published by GOAL recently, Shillong Lajong FC will have no foreigners for the upcoming I-League season.
In the I League season 2017-18, the Reds of the North-East had four foreigners but the management of the team has decided against making any overseas signings this time around.
The report also stated that Shillong Lajong will continue with nearly the same squad that is currently competing in the Shillong Premier League (SPL) 2018.
The report quoted Lajong coach Alison Kharsyntiew as saying: “We are in the senior division of the Shillong Premier League and we want to play with Indian players.”
He further stated: “I know it is going to be a huge challenge, but as a coach I have to work hard and believe in the team. The players have to do the same with a belief in themselves.”
