Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) of Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare has organized the State-level meet Hausla 2018 on the theme ‘A Celebration of Life of Children in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) here at Khelgaon of Reshitang in East Sikkim on Saturday.
More than 250 children from 27 CCIs from all four districts have participated in the event.
A total of 15 activities like athletics, football, painting, essay writing, poem recitation, cultural and others have been conducted under the day-long event.
The meet has been conducted to provide children a platform to express their creative, academic and physical abilities of children under the direction of Ministry of Women and Child Development.
The programme was attended by Additional Secretary-cum-Director, ICPS, Kincho Doma, Joint Secretary-cum-Programme Manager, ICPS, Bandana Rai and other officials and staffs from Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department.
Doma gave away the certificates to the winners and complemented them for their creativity and spirit shown during the event.
Additional Secretary informed that the winner of the state meet will participate in the upcoming zonal level meet which will have the participants from all northeastern States.
