About 150 Congress workers along with 300 plus primary members on Saturday shifted their loyalties to NPP camp in Bajengdoba constituency of North Garo Hills.

The Congress workers have extended their cooperation and support and have decided to work for NPP candidate Pongseng R. Marak.

NPP candidate Pongseng Marak welcomed the Congress supporters into the party fold.

“We welcome all the workers of the Congress party in our fold. We believe that they would work to strengthen NPP in Bajengdoba constituency”, Marak said.

NPP president Conrad K Sangma will also officially welcome them in the party during an election rally on February 10.

“We are very happy that workers of different political parties are coming out in large numbers to pledge their support for NPP. We believe that this will not only boost the morale of our leaders and candidates but also ensure victory of our candidates in their respective constituencies. The wave of NPP is spreading to all corners of the state and people and workers of different political parties are embracing it”, Conrad K Sangma said.
