Ambassa Police along with BSF battalion seized 800 kgs of dry cannabis from a vehicle bearing number HR 38 U 5420 at Jaharnagar area on Friday. Three persons have been arrested in this connection.

A team led by Dhalai SP Ashish Dasgupta and BSF officials conducted a search in the vehicle and seized the dry cannabis worth over Rs 40 lakh. Police also seized cash worth Rs 59,000 from the vehicle.

During interrogation the arrested persons revealed that the cannabis loaded truck was heading towards Bihar from Agartala in Tripura.

The three arrested persons have been identified as Ranjan Debbarma (31), resident of Mahanpur Lefunga, Sukhen Khan (16) of Faridpur in Delhi, Makbul Sajjid (24) of Haryana. The three were produced before the court for further investigation.
