Close on the heels of recovery of huge cache of automatic weapons and other warlike stores during a joint operation in Bishnupur district, 5 J&K Rifles in association with Bishenpur district police commandos continues to recover two more weapons, according to Assam Rifles sources.
“Continuing with the search operation for recovery of weapons, 5 J&K Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) along with Bishenpur Police Commandos recovered additional two weapons including one M-16 rifle and one AK-56 rifle along with four magazines on Monday from an area of Ishok Village in Bishenpur district,” stated Public Relations Officer of Assam Rifles (South) in a press release.

“The operation’s success is a result of continued hard work and determined efforts made by the Assam Rifles to curb the insurgent activities prevailing in the Imphal valley with the aim to bring peace to the State of Manipur,” the release added.
The Assam Rifles felt that the operation was considered to be as one of the most successful operation in the State in recent times.
Earlier on Sunday, the same combined team of security forces have recovered a huge cache of automatic weapons and other warlike stores from Pat area of Ishok Makha Leikai of Bishenpur district during a joint operation in Bishnupur district.

The recovery included two M 16 Rifles, four AK-56 Rifles and one A 4 Rifle along with UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher), the release added.
