The sprint queen from Assam, Hima Das, who had been struggling with a back injury, came out victorious yet again by winning 200 m gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland.
The ‘Dhing Express’, whose personal best is 23.10 seconds, clocked 23.65 seconds.

While South African sprinter Tamzim Thomas emerged second by clocking 23.71, another Indian sprinter, V.K. Vismaya stood third by clocking 23.75.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated athlete Hima Das for bringing laurels to the state by winning the women’s 200 meter sprint gold in the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poznan.

The chief minister, through a statement, said that the Assamese youngster had added another success to her list of accomplishments as the athlete had been consistently striving hard to make her presence felt at the international athletics events.

Hima’s achievements had been able to inspire the budding sportspersons in the state to aim for excellence and make the world aware about the state’s sporting prowess.
The chief minister also hoped that Hima would be able to repeat her stupendous success at all future events and the sprint star would keep making the people of the state and the country proud by her achievements at the world stage.
The chief minister also extended his greetings to other medal winners from India in the event.
